I have finally made the move to Blog via my web page now. Yes, I am leaving behind my google blog! Lately I have had many people I train request a BLOG on my web page, easily accessible, so here it is!!!
I was posed with a question during a client SKYPE consult this week. She asked " What do you do when you get a funk, you're tired, don't want to workout, etc. How do you make yourself go workout?" Instantly I said without hesitation, "I go run. It's simples. Regardless of how I feel, my mind has become trained to overcome the negative thoughts, mitigate the issues, and step out the door. A great example came from the day before our consult. It was an abnormally cold day in the area. 21 degree's to be exact. I laced up and headed out the door.
By mile 3, I was pretty much done...well, according to my brain. However, I pressed through and 8.5 miles later and a PR (personal record in time) I felt fantastic! But, I was also prepared. I had my gloves, beanie, warm running gear, NUUN, and SUNGLASSES. Yes, Sunglasses! It was a sunny and beautiful afternoon, which we rarely get in these parts! It's times like these that I remind myself to remember how I felt afterwards...happy, accomplished, relaxed, healthy and determined. So next time when the negative thoughts try to win, I can remind myself of the "feeling" I had upon completion. This gets me out the door!!
